Welcome to TAST

Transforming lives through Education.

Founded in 2017, The Academic Success Team (TAST) was established with the objective of supporting student development and addressing the challenges of resource scarcity and lack of motivation that many students face. Inspired by personal experiences, co-founder Agnes Atanga, along with like-minded partners, initiated TAST to provide students with the necessary resources and motivation to stay in school and excel academically.

Our vision is to create a future where every young person has the opportunity to reach their full potential through access to quality education, mentorship, and technological skills.

Our mission is to provide comprehensive support to students especially those underrepresented thus young women and persons with disabilities, equipping them with the tools, guidance, and resources necessary to succeed academically and professionally.

Since its inception, TAST has launched three flagship programs that have significantly impacted student lives.

Our flagship Programs

1. Academic Success Excellence Awards

This annual program aims to identify and reward hardworking and needy students, thereby inspiring others to strive for academic excellence. To date, TAST has awarded 350 students in the Central and Upper East Region, celebrating their achievements and encouraging a culture of hard work and dedication

2. The Academic Success Mentorship and Career Guidance Program

Held annually, this program targets final-year senior high school students, helping them make informed decisions about their career choices. Through mentorship and career guidance, TAST has impacted over 10,000 final-year students in the Central and the Northern Regions of Ghana, providing them with the tools and support needed to navigate their future paths effectively.

3. Northern Women in Technology (NWIT)

This program is designed for young women who have graduated from senior high school and are in their transition period. NWIT focuses on equipping these young women with 21st century ICT skills, enabling them to compete in the technology-driven world for both personal and professional development. The program addresses the gender gap in technology and empowers young women to pursue careers in STEM fields. TAST have trained 420 young women so far and still counting.

4. InsightEd: Research for Empowered Learning

This program focused on conducting research on relevant topics that align with its core mission of empowering students and enhancing education. This initiative aims to explore themes related to career guidance, mentorship, STEM education, and mental health, providing evidence-based insights that inform program development and advocacy. The research component not only supports academic success but also seeks to contribute to broader educational discourse by identifying trends, challenges, and opportunities that can improve student outcomes and well-being.

Our Beneficiaries

The beneficiaries of The Academic Success Team (TAST) are primarily students, with a special focus on young women and persons with disabilities from underserved and low-income communities. These individuals often face significant barriers, including limited access to education, financial constraints, gender-based challenges, and a lack of mentorship or career guidance.

TAST targets those who are navigating crucial transition phases, such as finishing high school or entering higher education, by providing them with scholarships, mentorship, ICT skills, and career guidance. Through these efforts, TAST empowers its beneficiaries to overcome obstacles, excel academically, and pursue fulfilling careers, ultimately becoming changemakers within their communities.
